Champions League Classic #3: Manchester City 4-3 Tottenham

This match would go done as one of Tottenham's most glorious matches in the Champions League in what would be as their most glorious season in the Champions League. The winner of this match would play Ajax in the semi finals and be one tie away from reaching their first Champions League final. Manchester City's last semi final appearane came in the 2015/16 season, when they unofrtunately lost 1-0 on aggregate to Real Madrid. Tottenham last quarter final appearance in the Champions League also came against Real Madrid, where they lost 5-0 on aggregate in the 2010/11 season.  THE CHAMPIONS BLOG: QUARTER FINAL DRAW SPECIAL Just like in the Round of 16, we have just as exciting and enticing matches in store for us in this season's quarter finals. Some of the matches that are being played have even been formed as classics over the years. In a special edition of the Champions Blog, we look at the four matches in store for us in this season's Champions League quarter finals.  Game 1: Arsenal vs Bayern Munich The first game of the quarter finals will be a classic, containing England's Arsenal and Germany's Bayern Munich. Arsenal have made the quarter finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2010 while Bayern have made the quarter finals for the 5th consecutive season in a row.  The Champions Blog  Please Note: Original Creation Date was 9th March 2024 The second leg of this season's Champions League Round of 16 was absolutely exceptional. We were in store for some great comebacks, penalty shootout drama and enticing encounters. This is the Champions Blog. The two weeks of football started very smoothly as Real Madrid hosted RB Leipzig in the Santiago Bernabeu. The hosts came into this match after grabbing a slim 1-0 win in Leipzig thanks to a stunning effort from Brahim Diaz. RB Leipzig have failed to make the quarter finals since their incredible run in 2020, making all the way to the semi finals while Real Madrid were looking to make the quarter finals for the fourth consecutive season. The game started off strong for the German side as they managed to attack with ease. They even came so close to scoring in the early stages of the match but the linesman came to Real's aid. Both sides were aiming to be the underdog side in the 2019 Champions League final. The winner of this match would play Liverpool in the final in the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano. Ajax had previously taken back a slim 1-0 lead from London as they narrowly defeated Spurs thanks to a goal from youngster, Donny van de Beek. It was all to play for in Amsterdam, but as we've seen before, we know that anything in the Champions League is possible. Match: Ajax were the better side, throughout the start of the game and even managed to register a goal within the first 5 minutes.  AC Milan 's 2006-07 Champions League Winning Squad: Where Are They Now? 23rd May 2007: Olympic Stadium, Athens, Greece AC Milan 2-1 Liverpool  Four years after the glorious night in Manchester, Milan returned to the top of Europe and won their seventh Champions League title, avenging the defeat in Istanbul against the runners -up, Liverpool. This meant that AC Milan are now with the second most Champions League wins (7), only behind Real Madrid (9 as of 2007) 1) Formation (#1) Dida was often considered as one of the best goalkeepers in the 2000s decade, best known for his incredible saves and reflexes. He appeared as the starting goalkeeper for Milan in Athens and played the full 90 minutes. He was also part of Milan's winning squad in 2003, making this his second Champions League win.  UCL CLASSICS: BARCELONA 6-1 PSG  Picture Above: Barcelona players celebrating their sixth goal as the managed to turn around the deficit and produce probably the greatest ever Champions League comeback. Wednesday 8th March 2017 Camp Nou, Barcelona, Spain Pre-Match:  The teams played this match in the second leg of the 2016-17 Champions League Round of 16. PSG (Paris Saint Germain) came into the second leg as heavy favourites to go through. This is because of PSG's first leg win at the Parc de Princes. The score was 4-0 to the Parisians thanks to the master class of Angel Di Maria as the Catalans only managed to register one shot on target throughout the entire game. The second leg came around three weeks later and Barcelona fans were hoping to see their team progress in a packed Nou Camp stadium. Both teams were already doing domestically in their leagues yetr both were eying a place in the quarter finals.  Match:  The game in Catalonia came off with a promising start for the host
